Hays (3-2, 2-1) kept itself in good position to battle for a playoff berth with a 35-7 win over San Marcos. Michael Boudoin III (see below) played well, with Durand Hill throwing for two touchdowns and running for another.

The rest of the district

The Westlake-Bowie game was postponed to Nov. 6 due to the Chaps dealing with coronavirus issues. … Charles Wright threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns — all to Nick Anderson — to lead Austin High (3-1, 2-1). … Defensive lineman Jason Harris made three sacks, forced a fumble and recovered two more for Del Valle (2-3, 1-2). … Jake Rodriguez-Scholz had a 1-yard TD plunge for San Marcos (1-4, 0-3). … Akins (1-4, 0-3) still seeks its first district win.

THE WEEK IN PREVIEW

Games of the Week: San Marcos at Austin High (Friday)

If Austin High is serious about getting to the postseason, this is a game it needs to win. Sure, San Marcos is winless in district play, but two of its three losses are to Lake Travis and Westlake and in the other it hung around with Hays for three quarters. The Maroons still have Westlake left on the slate along with key matchups against Hays and Del Valle, so tripping up here would be unwise.

Lake Travis game with Del Valle postponed

The scheduled game between Lake Travis and Del Valle for Friday has been postponed, according to Lake Travis officials on Monday. The schools hope to make up the game on Nov. 12 or Nov. 13, according to a tweet by the Lake Travis twitter account Monday afternoon.
